My Site is Down, What Do I Do?
No matter who develops or hosts your site, there will inevitably be times when you have trouble accessing your site. There are many factors that affect the availability of your site, including the following:
Your computer Your web browser Your Internet connection The server hosting your site The programming that makes up your site
If your site appears to be unavailable, it's important to find out why, and in many cases it will be necessary to contact us so we can make sure there are no problems with our servers or the site itself.
Before contacting us to report that your site is down, make sure to take the following steps, which can often reveal or even resolve the problems you're having:
Refresh the page by clicking on the Refresh or Reload button in your browser, or by pressing the Ctrl and R keys on your keyboard. Close all browers windows and then open a new browser window after the others are closed. Clear your browser's cache (called "Temporary Internet Files" in Internet Explorer). In Internet Explorer, click on Tools in the top menu, select Internet Options, and then click on the Delete Files button in the middle of the box that opens up. In Netscape, click on Edit in the top menu, select Preferences, click the arrow next to Advanced, select Cache, click Clear Memory Cache, and then click Clear Disk Cache. Reboot your computer -- this can often resolve many unexplainable computer problems. Try accessing other web sites to see if your Internet connection is down. Ask someone else at your office to try to access the site. If that person is also unsuccessful, try asking someone at a different location to give it a shot. And if all else fails...
Contact our staff using the customer support form on this web site. Please make sure to tell us what you've discovered when trying the steps above, as well as what you see when you try to access your site -- for example, a blank page or an error message of some sort.
